Samsung has recently launched its 2018 version of the J8 smartphone with tons of amazing features yet with a reasonable price. 1: Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus vs. J8 2018 – Design & Display
Apparently, there are subtle changes that you would notice among the two smartphones because the two phones have got almost similar height, thickness, and even display type. Yep, hold the two phones side by side and you would definitely get confused. The last year flagship from the South Korean Giant has got the Super AMOLED display with the screen sizing around 6.2” with the resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels while the 2018 model of the J8 phone has got the same display material – Super AMOLED with the screen sizing 6in featuring 720 x 1480 pixels.
There aren’t that prominent changes either that could be seen in the design of the two phones. With almost the same height and width, both the phones come with the curvy edges with little bezels. Moreover, things haven’t changed pretty much at the rear of the two phones as well. Because of the dual camera setting, J8 looks a bit different than the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. However, in the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, the fingerprint scanner and the flashlight are located on either side of the camera, that is, not been seen in the 2018 model of Samsung Galaxy J8. Don’t be too excited. Even though Samsung could change the odd placement of fingerprint scanner in J8, but they haven’t. The J8 has got the fingerprint scanner just beneath the cameras, however, flashlight being moved to the side of the cameras.
In a nutshell, design and display of both the phones are kind of similar but with the S8 Plus featuring a massive difference in screen resolution, it deserves a point.

Samsung featured the dual camera setting for the first time in its Note series. Following the Note series was the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and now the same setting has got featured in the 2018 model of J8. The South Korean Giant boats of capturing Infinity with the J8 that features the dual rear camera possessing 16MP and 5Mp lenses with F1.7 aperture. The front-facing camera is also capable of doing wonders to your pictures because it also features a 16MP camera with front flash.
Well, Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus doesn’t lack behind. It has got a 12MP camera on the rear of the S8 Plus that snaps the better pictures even in the low light as compared to its predecessor, all thanks to the camera improvements. In addition to that, the front-facing camera of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus had also given a bigger upgrade from the 5MP sensor to the 8MP sensor with autofocus and facial recognition features. However, that cannot beat the perfect selfies taken from J8 with the LED flash and better camera lens.
In a nutshell, Samsung Galaxy J8 has got a better camera than S8 Plus, so we have a clear winner here.

When it comes to performance, it seems that Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus has got a point because of the fact that it has got 30% faster CPU as that of the J8. This is because of the fact that S8 Plus phone from Samsung features Octa-core (2.3 GHz, Quad core, M2 Mongoose + 1.7 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53) processor with Samsung Exynos 9 Octa 8895 and 4GB RAM while the J8 features Octa core, 1.8 GHz, Cortex A53 processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset and 4GB RAM.
