Unwrapping Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus
Although there are quite a few changes that seem to take place in this year’s flagship, still, the phones got better in the overall experience. So have a look where the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus got improved.
As a matter of fact, the new flagship phones from the Samsung looks familiar to their predecessors, but once you peel back the layers, you will notice lots of things have been changed. These include:
1: Camera of Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus
Clearly, the primary focus of the South Korean Giant, this year is the camera, that got much better than the one included in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Although the bigger phone, S9 Plus got the touch of dual camera lenses from the Note 8, but still, there are many improvements made in S9 and S9 Plus’ camera worth talking about.
Both the phones come with the dual aperture camera which sounds like it allows two openings for the different light conditions. While this feature operates automatically, but you can also control it according to your needs of the pictures. Not only this, the camera of the latest flagship also offers the super slo-mo video feature, that is kinda surprising feature for the Samsung fanatics. While talking about the camera of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, how can we forget to talk about its AR Emoji feature? Yep, inspired by the Animoji feature from Apple’s iPhone X, S9 and S9 Plus now features the augmented reality-based 3D face animation for the added fun and experience of the users.
2: Bixby of Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus
Another area where Samsung made quite prominent changes is Bixby – specifically in the augmented-reality Vision section. In addition to the software tweaks that make Bixby look like a camera app, there is also theaddition of three modes in Bixby including:
- Live Translate
- Makeup
- Food
Shopping and landmark recognition features, that were available in the previous edition of Bixby are now termed as individual modes too, in the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.
Another ability of the Bixby that is added in the new phones is its ability to estimate the calories in the food you point your phone towards. This feature is quite a help for the diet conscious people or people who are looking for the healthy foods.
3: Intelligent Scan Feature of Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus
This change can be counted in the camera update, but as Samsung terms it to be Intelligent Scan, so does we. This feature allows the front-facing camera of the phone to work together with the iris scanner for more reliable unlocking. Moreover, according to the Samsung reps, when the iris scanner fails to recognize accurately, the intelligent scan allows the phone to make use of the facial recognition.
4: Stereo Speakers in Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus
Another greatest addition to the Samsung S9 and S9 Plus models is the stereo speakers which makes the phone 1.4 times louder than the S8. Combined with the new technology, the speakers definitely sound insane.
5: Fingerprint Sensor of Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus
The most controversial part of the S8 models was the fingerprint sensor, that, fortunately, have been placed beneath the camera in the S9 and S9 Plus phones. The new positioning works well enough and means the sensor is useful again. Don’t miss the Best Fingerprint App Lock Apps for Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus.
